Canberra Chess
Log
Wow, what a cache! It started all off when mtbikeroz talked us into having a "short" bush "walk" to Sentry Box Mountain and we were talking about more expeditions. Canberra Chess? OK, no problem - looks easy. After being home and studying it more closely, it occurred to me that this would involve an 100 km bike ride through Canberra [:P]. It turned out that it was possible to shrink that to 36.2 km (thanks to some fortunate circumstances [8D] and a bit of thinking), but nevertheless ...Doing it on the worst possible day, I was almost blown into Lake Griffin when riding over the bridge [xx(]. Back home with all the results. it all seemed easy. Put the pieces on the board, run the chess program, and do a few multiplications and additions. Well, it turned out that checkmate in 3 moves seems impossible. I became desperate (instead of trying out geochecker) [B)]. But just count the moves of all parties, then you get the checkmate in 3 moves. In any case, I had the coordinates ready this morning [^]. So on our first leg, RexTrex, mtbikeroz and I had a wonderful bush ride in the fresh morning - chasing roos [}:)]. On the way back it was almost always downhill and the wind from behind. So, I did some speeding and left mtbikeroz and RexTrex behind. When they caught up, they told me that a brown snake started to cross the track just when I was passing [:O] - and they told me what to do next time I see a snake crossing when I am coming down too fast to stop! Another nice puzzle solved and a brilliant bike ride in the Namadgi park! Thanks to mtbikeroz and RexTrex for the company! TFTC - Fogg
